Shaq is a Toronto-based video producer and cinematographer with a passion for storytelling through visual media. His recent work includes credits on Arya, a short film by Arish Divecha, Oleyada’s Late Night Jam Sessions video series, and Säye Skye’s innovative 360/VR music video “ADHD”.
In 2022, Shaq was a finalist for the Video Arts - Established Award at the Mississauga Arts Awards, a recognition of his growing influence in the arts community.
His portfolio also features work for The Varsity newspaper, Metrolinx, March of Dimes, Muse: The Brain Sensing Headband, and The STEPS Initiative.
Beyond his professional projects, Shaq has honed his craft through years of volunteering with the Toronto International Film Festival, Hot Docs, and the Future of Film Showcase, gaining valuable experience both on set and within the industry.
Shaq holds an HBA from the University of Toronto, with a focus on Cinema Studies, English, and History. He also co-founded Toronto New Wave, a not-for-profit festival celebrating film, music, and interactive media.
Influenced by filmmakers like David Gordon Green, Mark Duplass, and the Coen Brothers, Shaq brings a unique blend of creativity and technical skill to every project.
